Federal Minister for Housing Inaugurates Sports Complex at Local Medical Institute
Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, inaugurated the newly constructed sports complex at Royal Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here on Friday. Speaking at the ceremony, the minister highlighted the importance of promoting sports and healthy activities among students, emphasizing their role in fostering both physical health and mental development. He praised the institute’s management for establishing such a facility, noting that it would greatly enhance extracurricular engagement alongside academic excellence. He also commended the college administration for allocating quota seats for underprivileged students from his native region, specifically Khairpur Tamewali and Hasilpur. Recalling his tenure as Sports Minister, Minister Pirzada proudly stated that Pakistan won 37 medals during his brief term, marking it as a remarkable achievement in national sports history. He also shared a personal anecdote, mentioning that he himself was a sports champion during his school years. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and local dignitaries.
